What this site is

Editorial writing about the Park and Palace of Monserrate and about the listings a booking platform sells around it. It is not operated by, endorsed by or affiliated with Parques de Sintra, the Portuguese state, UNESCO, or any tour operator.

Accuracy, and its limits

Every figure here was read off a named source and the sources are named on the pages that use them; how that is done is on editorial policy. Tariffs, opening hours, closure dates, restoration schedules and platform prices all change, and this site is only as current as its last check. Amounts in the body copy are deliberately approximate for that reason. Before you travel, check Parques de Sintra’s own site for hours and tariff and the booking widget for today’s price. Where either disagrees with a page here, they are right and the page is out of date.

Bookings

Bookings are made with GetYourGuide, under their terms and their cancellation policy, and the contract is between you, them and the operator of whatever you booked. This site is not a party to it and cannot amend, cancel or refund anything. Admission to Monserrate itself is sold by Parques de Sintra.

Photographs of the palace come from Wikimedia Commons under the licences their photographers chose and are credited on photo credits; those licences travel with the pictures, not with this site. Quotations from listings and from reviews are reproduced as evidence, attributed, and belong to whoever wrote them.
